Ledley visits Yorkshire Spurs

Tue 26 March 2019, 11:36|Tottenham Hotspur

Last weekend, Ledley King paid a visit to Yorkshire Spurs, one of our 200 Official Supporters’ Clubs, for their annual Legends’ Evening.

The event, which was held at Wardrobe, Leeds, was attended by 190 members of Yorkshire Spurs, plus fans from other Supporters’ Clubs such as North West Spurs, Lancashire Spurs, Cleethorpes and Grimsby Spurs and South Dorset Spurs.

Ledley, who was welcomed onto stage by a medley of Spurs songs played on the piano by Yorkshire Spurs’ Vice Chairperson Ro Huntriss, handed out a number of Member awards alongside former player Graham Roberts.

Awards included ‘Personality of the Year’, ‘Newcomer of the Year’ and ‘Spurs Legend of the Year’, which, this season, was awarded to Micky Hazard for his on-going support to Yorkshire Spurs.

Yorkshire Spurs also held a raffle and auction which was made up of items donated by Tottenham Hotspur and William Hill, one of the Club’s commercial partners, which raised £1,900.

All money raised has been donated to DBA UK, a charity which helps people affected by Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA), a genetic condition which their youngest member Archie Flintoft suffers with.

Ledley said: “It’s always a pleasure visiting Supporters’ Clubs up and down the country, and Saturday night was no different. Yorkshire Spurs put on a great evening, and I would like to congratulate them on their efforts. It’s brilliant to see fans coming together in the name of Spurs whilst raising money for such an important cause.”

We currently have 200 Official Supporters' Clubs across the world, including South Korea, India, Singapore, Lebanon, Nigeria, Australia, Bermuda, South Africa, Brazil and USA. In the UK we have 48 clubs, stretching from Cornwall to Glasgow as well as special interest groups such as Proud Lilywhites, for our LGBT+ supporters, SpursAbility, for our disabled fans, and Armed Forces Spurs for serving and former members of the British Armed Forces.
