It says a lot about how far the team has come that two Premier League defeats on the bounce can be considered a bad run, but Hugo Lloris is nevertheless pleased to have moved on from that as we approach a decisive match in Europe.

The players are in Germany ahead of this evening’s Champions League round of 16, second leg against Borussia Dortmund, carrying a 3-0 advantage from our initial meeting at Wembley last month.

Following back-to-back losses last week, we produced a response against Arsenal on Saturday, coming back from a goal down to draw 1-1 – a result that goalkeeper Hugo believes can act as a stepping stone to a returning to form.

“Now we can be focused on the Champions League and finish the work we started in February,” said the captain, who saved a late penalty to prevent the Gunners from snatching victory at the weekend.

Hopefully the bad feeling and the bad run is behind us and we are looking forward to this game against Dortmund.

“It’s going to be tough again, we need to be ready to compete and then there will be Saturday against Southampton and hopefully we can get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

“High-level football is tough, there is no place to hide, you always need to fight and be ready for the next game.

“Hopefully the bad feeling and the bad run is behind us and we are looking forward to this game against Dortmund. It’s important to keep fighting.”
