Hugo Lloris used GK Nkoudou’s vital contribution to illustrate the team’s togetherness and mentality after the last-gasp win at Fulham.

Off the bench for his first Premier League appearance of the season, GK provided the cross for Harry Winks to head home the dramatic winner in the final seconds at Craven Cottage.

It was our 11th away win in the Premier League already this season - a Club best - and made it seven wins in nine in the league and 10 wins and a draw in our last 13 in all competitions.

All this without the services of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura at Fulham and having lost Dele Alli, who scored the equaliser, to injury as we searched for the winner.

We are used to playing better football but in any circumstances the most important thing in football is to get the win

“The belief helped us to get the three points,” said skipper Hugo. “It was not easy. We are used to playing better football but the most important thing especially at this time of year is to get the points.

“We did it as a team and the best example is the assist of GK Nkoudou for the second goal. He showed the mentality of the squad, everyone is ready to help the team and it’s a big win, especially after the defeat against Manchester United that we didn’t deserve.”

Mauricio Pochettino also made a point of praising GK’s assist at Craven Cottage - and Hugo reiterated that it’s the time of the season where wins are all that really matter.

“Fulham started well, lots of energy, we were a bit unlucky with their goal and then it was important not to concede the second goal and to stay in the game because we know we have the quality to change it," he added.

“This is what happened and I repeat, we are used to playing better football but in any circumstances the most important thing in football is to get the win.”
