Siri Worm is in the chair today for ‘My First Spurs Christmas’ – our recurring feature where we catch up with some of this year’s new signings to find out about their plans for the festive period and how they’ve celebrated in the past. Left-back Siri joined Spurs Women over the summer from Everton...

What will you do on Christmas Day?
“In Holland we celebrate Christmas on two days – 25 and 26 December. On the first day we start with brunch and then it’s time to open the presents. In the evening my parents, my two brothers, my grandma and I will have dinner together and then we’ll watch a movie. On the second day, we visit my dad’s sisters and have dinner with the whole family.”

How does this differ from past Christmases for you?
“There is not really a difference because we don’t have any WSL matches during this period. Our Christmas is quite traditional and we do the same thing every year. As a professional footballer, I’m just delighted that I can spend Christmas with the family every year.”

What is traditional at Christmas in Holland?
“A traditional dinner in Holland is called Gourmetten. We have a grill plate in the middle of the dinner table and everyone puts their own pieces of meat, fish and vegetables on their plates.”

What is your favourite festive meal?
“Definitely Gourmetten but I really like a traditional British Christmas dinner as well!”

What do you wish for at Christmas?
“I wish for a lovely time with my family. I don’t see my family often now since I live in England, so it’s more special when I do get the opportunity to spend time with them, especially over Christmas.”

What was your most memorable gift as a child?
“Ajax tickets – it was the first football game I went to watch in a stadium.”

Look out for more instalments of ‘My First Spurs Christmas’ over the coming days, featuring some of the new faces from both our Men’s and Women’s squads. Tanguy Ndombele, Hannah Godfrey and Ryan Sessegnon have already shared their answers with us and tomorrow it’s the turn of another Spurs Women star, New Zealand’s most capped international Ria Percival...
