We already feel at home - Dele, Harry Winks preview City

Sun 07 April 2019, 12:43|Tottenham Hotspur

Dele and Harry Winks already feel at home - and both believe the supporters in our new stadium can make a difference in a huge Champions League quarter-final, first leg on Tuesday night.

What an occasion for our world-class venue! City, aiming for an unprecedented 'quadruple', are just the second visitors to the new stadium as we step out in the quarter-finals of the Champions League/European Cup for only the third time in our history.

Both 'Winksy' and Dele relished returning home as we toppled Palace 2-0 in the first Premier League match at the new stadium last week.

They cannot wait to get back on Tuesday night...

The stadium spurs us on, gets us going. You go to another level just through pure adrenaline...

Harry Winks

Harry, who reached the 100-appearance milestone for us against Palace, told us: "It’s going to be another fantastic spectacle. It’s going to an amazing night and hopefully we can come away with a positive result.

"We’re going into it more than confident with the squad we have and the backing from the fans here, on the back of a win as well. It’s already starting to feel like home. I can imagine for the opposition it could be quite daunting. For us, it spurs us on, gets us going. You go to another level just through pure adrenaline."

It will be difficult but we have to be confident... the fans will be right behind us, our 12th man

Dele

Dele, who played a slightly deeper role centrally against Palace, added: "It's a big game, a tough game but I’m excited and I think all the players are excited as well.

"We know how good City are and it will be difficult but we have to be confident, go out there and play our own game. The fans will be right behind us, the 12th man. The new stadium already feels like home. We feel comfortable and it’s an amazing stadium, so that can only help us."
