Mauricio Pochettino issued a heartfelt ‘thank-you’ to our fans after our dramatic win against Watford in the Carabao Cup at Milton Keynes.

Over 20,000 made the trip to Stadium MK and witnessed a victory on penalties to take us through to the fourth round.

After a slow start, the game had just about everything as we came from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 with only five minutes remaining, only for Watford to level in the final minute.

We then had the sight of Dele Alli, proud captain back ‘home’ at his former club, burying the decisive penalty in the shoot-out having already scored from the spot to make it 1-1 in normal time.

There was plenty for Mauricio to ponder at the end of the game but his thoughts went immediately to the supporters.

"I want to say ‘thank-you’ to our fans," he said. "They were amazing. They came here and supported the team and I want to say 'thank-you' from myself and on behalf of the coaching staff, the team and the staff.

"I think we have the best fans in the world and I know the effort they are making to follow us and we need to praise them.

"We are so happy for them and the players because the team fought hard to go through and now we wait for the draw for the next round."

That draw will take place on the Quest TV channel at 9pm on Saturday evening.
