Internationals: Mikey Moore receives maiden England Under-21s call-up
Mikey Moore has been named in the England Under-21s squad for the first time.
The forward, currently on loan at Bundesliga side 1 FC Köln, has been selected by Lee Carsley after an encouraging start to the season.
Having featured in our first three games of the campaign, which included him scoring a goal and providing an assist as we defeated Charlton 5-1 in the Carabao Cup back in September, the Academy graduate then headed out to Cologne for a season-long loan.
Providing an assist on his league debut in Germany, the 19 year-old has featured in each of his side's seven fixtures since with them sitting 13th in the Bundesliga, just four points outside the European places.
In the last international break he scored twice and provided an assist as he made his first three appearances for England's Under-20s, captaining his side in each of those games.
Now he has been promoted to the Under-21s set up where he is joined by Archie Gray, who captained Lee Carsley's side in the last international break as they qualified for next summer's European Championships.
The duo will face clashes with Portugal - who were captained by Mateus Fernandes last time out - and France - who were captained by Mathys Tel last time out - this international break.
