On-loan midfielder Reiss Russell-Denny scored his first senior goal for Bristol Rovers on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to help his side take any points away from their trip to Fleetwood Town.
The 20-year-old stepped off the bench in the 61st minute at Highbury Stadium, just after Rhys Bennett had doubled the lead given to the home team by Aaron Loupalo-Bi.
Six minutes from time, he halved the deficit for Rovers, sending a looping ball over Jay Lynch and inside the far post.
However, Josh Roberston secured a 3-1 win for Fleetwood on the 90-minute mark.
Reiss has made 14 appearances for Bristol Rovers, 11 in League Two, since linking up with them at the start of the season.
