Lynn Wilms
An experienced full-back on the domestic and international stage, Lynn Wilms joined the Villans ahead of the 2025/26 campaign after four years in Germany with VfL Wolfsburg – a spell that saw her compete in the latter stages of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on a number of occasions. Missing just one game in her maiden campaign in the Women’s Super League, the Netherlands international registered an impressive seven assists so far. Operating primarily as a right-back, Wilms is always eager to push forwards and is known for her dangerous deliveries into the box and is set-piece specialist, scoring some fantastic free-kicks and just last weekend, she found the back of the net direct from a corner to steal a point away at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Lucia Kendall
A young midfielder that took the WSL – and the England senior squad – by storm last season in her maiden campaign in England’s top flight. Stepping up to the WSL after 10 years with Southampton, the 22-year-old made 21 appearances for the Villans last term in all competitions, scoring once, and her debut season in claret and blue got even better when she earned her first senior England call-up in October, 2025. Making her international debut in a 3-0 win over Australia, the box-to-box midfielder was named Player of the Match and two months later, she scored her first goal for the Lionesses in a 2-0 win over Ghana. Kendall has started in Villa’s opening three games of the current WSL season.
Chasity Grant
Having starred for Ajax, winning four league titles during her time in Amsterdam, the forward has showcased her quality on the WSL stage on numerous occasions and was named the club’s Players’ Player of the Season after her maiden campaign, scoring six goals and registering three assists in 2024/25. An energetic forward, who can operate through the middle or on either flank, the Netherlands international has begun the current term with an assist against Manchester City and netted in their Wednesday night Subway Players Cup victory over Nottingham Forest. Grant has also reached double figures in caps for the Netherlands as she has stamped her mark at national team level.
