From the archives | Aston Villa in N17

Villa first travelled to Tottenham in Football League action in our first campaign in England's top flight, the old Division One, back in 1909/10.

We drew 1-1 at the Lane on that occasion on 2 April, 1910 - Percy Humphreys on target.

Villa were a powerhouse at the time. They won the title that season and in our first six campaigns in the top flight, Villa won that 1909/10 title and finished runners-up a further three times.

Fast forward 80 years, and Villa were runners-up again - this time in the inaugural season of the Premier League, 1992/93 - we played out a goalless draw in November, 1992.
