WSL Fantasy | Spurs Matchweek 2 Preview
After our 3-1 opening day win against West Ham United, Fantasy Football Scout have taken a look at the underlying numbers behind our outstanding start to the Women’s Super League season to help build your lineups for Matchweek 2.
We have teamed up with Scout to bring you hints, tips and advice for your WSL Fantasy squads during the 2026/27 season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and matchweek tips, which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues and helping you towards a chance at claiming some WSL prizes.
If you missed the deadline to sign up before Matchweek 1, don’t worry, you are still able to build a 15-player fantasy squad and battle it out with fellow Spurs supporters in our Official League, which can be joined by selecting us as your favourite club.
Different to other fantasy games, the season is split into six blocks called ‘legs’, each with its own leaderboard and its own prize, meaning that a late start does not end the season because of the opportunity to win legs throughout the campaign.
Best of Spurs
Only two players in the game registered more points than Kirsty Hanson (£8.0m), whose two goals against West Ham saw her pick up 17 points in MW1.
Her brace against the Hammers last Sunday will make her a popular target for WSL Fantasy managers ahead of Saturday’s deadline.
Matilda Vinberg (£6.5m) is a huge differential in the game. The 23-year-old midfielder returned seven points in MW1 thanks to her assist for Kirsty’s second.
Julie Blakstad (£5.5m) also registered an assist, teeing up Signe Gaupset for our opener and returning her fantasy owners five points.
Toko Koga (£5.5m) was substituted before the West Ham goal, and therefore she registered the four clean sheet points. In total, Toko registered six points in MW1.
Spotlight: Signe Gaupset (£6.0m)
Signe started 11 matches in the WSL last season after joining us in January. In those matches, she scored three goals and registered an assist.
Our number eight started this season with a bang, registering a goal and an assist against West Ham.
Signe had three attempts on goal at Brisbane Road on Sunday, and her attacking threat will make her an incredibly popular pick in WSL Fantasy moving forward.
At just six per cent ownership, now would be a good time to invest in her whilst she remains a differential, and she can boost you up mini-leagues and the overall ranks.
The midfielder is currently the third most transferred-in Spurs player ahead of MW2, thanks to her 14-point return on the opening weekend.
Spurs’ most popular WSL Fantasy asset
Kirsty is the most transferred-in Spurs player heading into MW2. Over 4,600 managers have brought the Scottish international into their teams since the MW1 deadline passed last Friday.
Her big total of 17 points in our opener came courtesy of her two goals (five points per goal), a clean sheet (as, like Toko, she was substituted ahead of the West Ham goal), six attacking actions (one point) and all three bonus points.
Last season, the attacker would have racked up 130 points, being the eighth-highest-scoring midfielder in the WSL.
Hidden Gem
Manchester City’s Mary Fowler (£6.0m) is only owned by 5% of managers currently on WSL Fantasy. The forward scored, registered a point for defensive actions, and earned a bonus point in MW1 in their 3-1 win over Birmingham City.
Fowler missed a lot of last season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which may have seen her overlooked by a number of WSL Fantasy managers.
