Team news | Roberto on Mudryk: “He’s ready to play part of the game”
Roberto De Zerbi says Mykhailo Mudryk is available for selection for our trip to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm UK).
The Ukraine international winger joined us on loan from Chelsea on Monday.
He has trained this week and Roberto – the pair reunited after spending time together at Shakhtar Donetsk – reports that he’s ready to play his part at the City Ground.
Asked about Mykhailo’s fitness in his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way on Friday, Roberto replied: “I don’t know how many times he needs (to play) to be available to start – one part of the game, I think, he’s ready to play right now, 15, 20, 30 minutes.
Asked in a follow up question if he was therefore going to be part of the squad, Roberto added: “Yes, I think he's ready to play part of the game. I think so."
Speaking further on Mudryk, Roberto added: “The potential is clear, now his challenge is to respect all his qualities, because he's a great player. He has to feel this season, to live this season in the right way, not too many pressures, but anyway, it's the right moment for him to show all people things, because if Chelsea paid 100 million four years ago - I think they brought a lot of big, big players, no? - and to spend 100 million, I think they thought very well about the qualities of Mudryk.”
