The 2026/27 Women’s Super League action returns next weekend!
Following our record-breaking campaign in England’s top flight last term, another exciting season is set to get underway in just over a weeks’ time.
A repeat of last season’s opener in the competition, we welcome West Ham United at Brisbane Road on Sunday 6 September (12noon UK) – and tickets are still available to buy.
As we count down to the big kick-off to our eighth WSL campaign, here are four reasons to be there for our first home game of 2026/27…
Home excellence
It’s good to open a brand-new season in front of our fans and we boasted quite an impressive WSL home record in 2025/26.
In our eight WSL fixtures at Brisbane Road last term, we only lost once and recorded six wins in total, scoring 10 goals, while the one draw came in the north London derby in front of a record WSL attendance at Leyton Orient’s ground.
We will need our home advantage once again on the opening weekend as we look to get off to the perfect start!
New faces to meet
It has been quite a busy summer in terms of arrivals and Sunday’s fixture against the Hammers could provide the opportunity for fans to welcome our newest arrivals.
Experienced WSL players Shekiera Martinez, Kirsty Hanson and Victoria Pelova made the switch to north London this summer with Caitlin Dijkstra, Alice Sombath and Selma Panengstuen also joining the Club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
While five of those players have been in action during pre-season so far, there will be a chance to introduce our summer signings to our home crowd for the first time ahead of kick-off.
A London derby to begin
There’s certainly no better way to start a new season than a local London derby at home.
We’ve faced the Hammers on 14 occasions since our promotion to the WSL in 2019, where we’ve won eight of those fixtures.
In our season opener last term, Bethany England slotted home from the penalty spot to earn us a late 1-0 victory.
Matchday experience
Alongside the action on the pitch for 90 minutes, there will be plenty of activities to get involved in the build-up and at half-time at Brisbane Road.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Jess Iszatt will be on the pre-match tunes while Chirpy and Lily will be roaming around to meet fans and pose for photos. Supporters can get in the mood for our season opener with face painters and a football workshop.
