Introducing our new Women’s Under-19s players
We are delighted to introduce the group of nine players stepping up to join our Under-19s squad for the 2026/27 campaign.
Goalkeeper Cassie Shields is joined by defenders Daisy May Bird, Dasha Mensah Abeka and Amie Bush, who has captained England at Under-16s level throughout last term.
Waris Deria, Scotland Under-17 international Mehak Khanna and Lexi Withey join our midfield ranks alongside Ellie Johnson, who has returned to our Professional Game Academy programme after a spell at London City Lionesses. Daria Ordean is the forward in this year’s cohort.
With the majority of them part of our Under-16s Professional Game Academy Plate squad last season, our Under-19s have now begun their pre-season preparations at our Enfield training base ahead of a pre-season friendly against Peterborough United on Sunday 9 August at Pims Park (2pm UK).
Women’s Under-19s Head Coach Matt Sharman said: “We have a really exciting team going into this season, with some new players stepping up from the Under-16s or joining our PGA programme - and I believe will bring a lot to the group.
“The Under-19 level is an important part of each players development and we want to support them becoming the best version of themselves on and off the pitch, so I’m looking forward to working with them this campaign.”
