Team news | Vicario available again, Roberto to decide who starts in goal

Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Guglielmo Vicario is back available for selection ahead of our trip to Chelsea on Tuesday night (8pm UK).

Goalkeeper Vic has been sidelined since undergoing hernia surgery at the end of March but is now fit, with boss Roberto set to decide on Tuesday whether to restore him to the team or stick with Antonin Kinsky in goal at Stamford Bridge.

“Vicario is available to play and I decide tomorrow,” the Head Coach told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Monday lunchtime.

“It’s not difficult, the decision. Vicario is number one but we have to consider the physical condition, the moment, many things. I have a big relationship with Antonin Kinsky and with Vicario as well and there will not be any problems.”

Roberto will also speak with James Maddison before the game to ascertain what role he can play after the midfielder missed a couple of days’ training in the wake of his comeback off the bench against Leeds United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Monday night.

Roberto confirmed additionally that Dominic Solanke remains out, along with Xavi Simons, Cristian Romero, Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert and Ben Davies.
