Proud Lilywhites work to challenge discrimination

This week’s Matchday Three in European competition was dedicated to the FARE Network’s ‘Football People’ Week of Action, uniting clubs and fans across the continent in challenging discrimination within the game.

Football People aims to increase public awareness of discrimination in football, act as a means for social change through unified action in football and develop ideas and new practices that challenge exclusion.

Ahead of our Champions League match in Germany, representatives from the Proud Lilywhites, our LGBT supporters group, met with their Bayer Leverkusen counterparts – Bayer 04 Junxx.

The Club and Proud Lilywhites work closely to raise awareness of homophobia within the game and create a safe and inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender fans.
