2004Â Â Â A 1-1 draw at home to Liverpool results in us being knocked out of the Carling Cup on penalties at the fifth round stage. Jermain Defoe (pictured, above) scores for us in extra time.
2013Â Â Â Kyle Walker nets at Old Trafford where we draw 2-2 with Manchester United.
2Â Â Â FRIDAY
1916   We beat Arsenal 4-1 in a ‘home’ game at Highbury after White Hart Lane is requisitioned by the War Office. Jimmy Banks bags a hat-trick.
1941Â Â Â Mike England born at Greenfield, North Wales, and would join us from Blackburn Rovers in 1966. Happy birthday, Mike.

SPURS v SWANSEA CITY, Premier League, at White Hart Lane, 3pm
2005Â Â Â We go fourth in the table by beating Sunderland 3-2 at home with Mido, Robbie Keane and Michael Carrick all on target. Future Spur Ben Alnwick saves a Keane penalty.
2011Â Â Â We defeat Bolton Wanderers 3-0 at the Lane. Gary Cahill is sent off after 18 minutes.
4Â Â Â SUNDAY
1978Â Â Â Jimmy Holmes and John Pratt score as we lose 4-2 at Upton Park in a testimonial game for Billy Bonds.
2004   Robbie Keane’s strike sees us leave Ewood Park with a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
5Â Â Â MONDAY
1900Â Â Â Jimmy Dimmock born in Edmonton. He would earn a place in our history by scoring the winning goal in the 1921 FA Cup Final.
2006Â Â Â We beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in a home midweek game. Dimitar Berbatov and Keano on target.
6Â Â Â TUESDAY
1884Â Â Â Hotspur beat Tottenham 4-0 in a friendly.
2007   We draw 1-1 at Anderlecht in the UEFA Cup. Berba’s penalty (pictured, below) is enough to secure our place in the Round of 32.
7Â Â Â WEDNESDAY
SPURS v CSKA MOSCOW, UEFA Champions League, Group E, at Wembley Stadium, 7.45pm
1991Â Â Â We beat Notts County 2-1 in Division One at the Lane thanks to goals by Paul Walsh and Gary Mabbutt.
2010Â Â Â A valuable 3-3 Champions League draw at FC Twente where we take the lead three times! A brace from Jermain Defoe follows an own goal.
8Â Â Â THURSDAY
1883   Only 10 men turn up but we still kick off at Leyton Rovers in a friendly – and lose 3-1. One of our founder members Bobby Buckle is our goalscorer.
2008   We return from Upton Park with a welcome 2-0 win over West Ham United thanks to goals from Ledley King and Jamie O’Hara.

1907Â Â Â Back from Luton Town with a 5-1 Western League win. Jimmy Pass nets twice.
1995Â Â Â Teddy Sheringham scores the only goal as we beat QPR at the Lane.

1963   We hold a two goal first leg lead on arrival at Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Not only do we lose the return 4-1 but talisman Dave Mackay breaks his leg.
2006Â Â Â We hammer Charlton Athletic 5-1 at home. Dimitar Berbatov leads the way with two while Jermain Defoe, Teemu Tainio and Steed Malbranque also chip in.

1958Â Â Â Birthday greetings to Chris Hughton (pictured, below) who was born on this day in Forest Gate.
2004Â Â Â Fredi Kanoute scores the only goal as we win at Manchester City.

2005Â Â Â We beat Portsmouth 3-1 at the Lane. Ledley King, Mido (penalty) and Jermain Defoe all score.
2010   A 1-1 Sunday home draw with Chelsea. Heurelho Gomes saves a penalty after Roman Pavlyuchenko’s opener.

Pau Lopez’s 22nd birthday.
1884Â Â Â We play a friendly at Woodgrange but the game is abandoned after 40 minutes due to bad light with the score at 0-0.
1919Â Â Â We beat Fulham 4-0 in the Second Division at home. Billy Minter scores twice.

SPURS v HULL CITY, Premier League, at White Hart Lane, 8pm
1912Â Â Â We come away from Woolwich Arsenal with a 3-0 win in the First Division; Jimmy Cantrell hits two of our goals.
2006Â Â Â Goals from Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov maintain our 100 per cent record in the competition as Dinamo Bucharest are defeated 3-1 in the UEFA Cup at White Hart Lane.

1981Â Â Â Birthday greetings to Russia international Roman Pavlyuchenko who was born this day in Mostovskoy.
2007   Dimitar Berbatov’s late goal gives us a 1-0 win at Portsmouth.
16Â Â Â FRIDAY
1899Â Â Â We win 6-1 at Cowes but then the home side resign from the Southern League so the result is not officially recorded.
1916Â Â Â We were winning 1-0 against Portsmouth at Highbury in the London Combo when fog forces the abandonment of the game after 15 minutes.
17Â Â Â SATURDAY
1969Â Â Â Our first attempt at entertaining Everton is postponed due to snow and then this re-arranged game is abandoned when the lights fail after 29 minutes! When we finally meet in March we lose 1-0. Everton are Champions that season.
2014Â Â Â A 4-0 success at home to Newcastle in the League Cup. Harry Kane (pictured, above) among our marksmen.

SPURS v BURNLEY, Premier League, at White Hart Lane, 4pm
2007Â Â Â We beat Manchester City 2-0 at Eastlands on our way to winning the Carling Cup. Jermain Defoe and Steed Malbranque score. Didier Zokora is sent off.
2008Â Â Â We hit back from trailing by two goals to draw 2-2 with Spartak Moscow at the Lane in the UEFA Cup. Luka Modric and Tom Huddlestone are our goalscorers.
19Â Â Â MONDAY
1891   We face the 1st Battalion Scots Guards in the second round of the Luton Charity Cup – and lose 4-0.
1898Â Â Â We play Luton Town in an FA Cup second replay at Tufnell Park, winning 2-0 with our goals scored by James Cameron and Tom Bradshaw. We play 10 ties in the competition that season but still only reach round three where we lose 4-1 at Stoke.
20Â Â Â TUESDAY
1997   Our Premier League game at home to Barnsley is billed as a ‘relegation battle’ with both teams struggling. But two goals from David Ginola – one a header – ease our fears as we win 3-0.
2006Â Â Â We need an extra time goal from Jermain Defoe to beat Championship strugglers Southend United in the fourth round of the Carling Cup at the Lane.

1951Â Â Â Steve Perryman born in Ealing. His 656 league appearances remain a club record. Happy birthday, Stevie!
1957Â Â Â We win 4-2 at Chelsea where Bobby Smith scores twice against his former club.

1923Â Â Â A 1-0 triumph at Blackburn thanks to a goal from Alex Lindsay who had also scored the previous week when we beat the same side 2-1 at the Lane.
2013Â Â Â Two goals for Emmanuel Adebayor as we win 3-2 at Southampton.

1905Â Â Â We beat the Saints 5-0 at home in the Western League. Vivian Woodward and Joe Walton score two goals apiece.
1970Â Â Â We reach the League Cup Final with a 2-0 extra time home win over Bristol City. Martin Chivers and Jimmy Pearce (pictured, above, with Bill Nicholson) score.
24Â Â Â SATURDAY
1898   Another game ‘expunged’ from the records after our opponents withdraw from the Southern League. This time it is a fine 5-1 win at Warmley.
1955Â Â Â Bobby Smith makes his debut at home to Luton Town. We are desperate for First Division points and win 2-1 thanks to goals from Johnny Brooks and Len Duquemin.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS FROM ALL AT SPURS.
1911Â Â Â More than 10,000 fans are locked outside the Lane as the 47,109 inside watch us demolish Woolwich Arsenal 5-0 in the First Division.
1956Â Â Â We beat Everton 6-0 at home thanks in the main to two goals apiece from Terry Medwin and Bobby Smith.

2011Â Â Â A late Heung-Min Son strike gives us a 2-1 win at Watford where Nathan Ake is sent off for a foul on our opening goalscorer Erik Lamela.

2006Â Â Â An amazing game at home to Reading with Spurs winning 6-4 following on from a 5-1 triumph over Fulham at the Lane three days before.
2013Â Â Â Mousa Dembele among our goalscorers in a 3-0 home victory over Stoke City.

1961   Our ‘Double’ side beat Chelsea 5-2 at the Lane. Cliff Jones hits three with Les Allen and Dave Mackay also netting.
1972Â Â Â We reach the League Cup Final with a 4-3 aggregate win over Wolves. Martin Peters scores in both games.
