Manchester United’s WSL story so far
Founded as Manchester United Women in 2018, the club joined the FA Women’s Championship with Casey Stoney appointed as head coach.
In April 2019, following an impressive campaign, promotion to the Women’s Super League was secured, and the Championship title was lifted shortly after.
In 2019/20, United finished fourth in the WSL on a points per game basis after the season was curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June 2021, Stoney was replaced by Marc Skinner, who took them to another fourth-placed finish. This season, they’re now second in the league, two points behind Chelsea.
Rehanne’s thoughts
"They've got results that have put them in a good position. The team has been pretty much the same for most of the season. We were in that position last year and when you have that run of player availability it helps you to gel and get relationships together. Naturally you're able to evolve the team when that happens.
"It's going to be a tough game for us but we're in a very good position and ready to play it."
Match officials
Amy Fearn has been appointed to take charge of Sunday’s game, Jacob Lehane and Isabel Chaplin her assistants and Louise Saunders the fourth official.
How to follow
