Hojbjerg determined to keep driving forward

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg hasn't missed a minute of Premier League action this season - and he has no intention of that changing in the final four games of 2020/21.

Not taking into account added time, Pierre will step out against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday (12.30pm) with 3,060 minutes under his belt in the competition this season - ever-present with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after 34 matches.

The Danish international - recently named Danish Player of the Year - has been outstanding in his first season at the Club and featured in 49 of our 54 matches in all competitions. That's not all. As we prepare for Elland Road, Pierre finds himself third in the list of most tackles in the Premier League in 20/21 (88) and completed passes (2,488).

What's the secret? “It’s about creating a basic where performances, way of living, way of thinking, way of performing, all has to come together,” he explained. “It’s not easy, always, to stay objective and, let’s say, calm.

“I have enjoyed it a lot, I’ve learned a lot and I’m happy... happy with myself, happy that I got the opportunity, happy that I fought for that opportunity, but there is also a big hunger, so, definitely not over, definitely not finished, definitely not tired. For sure, there is more to attack, more to get from this season. This is where the drive comes from.

“So, yes, my first season here, the players have been excellent, the guys in charge have been excellent the Club has been excellent, my family have settled quickly. I’m proud, but I’m also grateful to be around the people who are helping me."
