The latest from Goodison - Eric Dier

Eric Dier feels a good result against Everton tonight could be a catalyst for us ahead of huge week of action.

Over the next nine days, we face a triple header of important fixtures in the context of our season. Starting this evening, we take on the Toffees at Goodison Park in the Premier League before our league campaign continues in earnest on Wednesday as we host Southampton in N17. Then, next Sunday, it’s the Carabao Cup Final as we take on Manchester City at Wembley.

“(Tonight is) obviously the start for a huge stretch for us, especially after the last two results,” Eric said ahead of kick-off in Merseyside. “We’re coming to a very difficult place; it’s going to be a very difficult game, but we need to get back on track and that starts today. Hopefully we can do that and put ourselves in a nice position to attack next week in the right way.

“The mood is good. Obviously, we are disappointed with the previous results but, the mood is good, the mood is determined, it is motivated to turn things around after the last couple of results, so I think it is in a good place.”
