Danso named ambassador of homelessness charity The Passage
Kevin Danso has today been announced as a new ambassador for the homelessness charity, The Passage.
Kevin Danso has today (Thursday 21 August) been announced as a new ambassador for the homelessness charity, The Passage.
The defender visited the charity based in Westminster, London, earlier today to spend time with its clients and staff, volunteering in their kitchen to prepare and serve lunch to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
While at The Passage's centre in the centre of the capital, he joined conversations with members of The Passage’s Lived Experience Assembly (LEA) and Experts by Experience (EBE) group, listening to their personal stories and sharing his commitment to supporting their voices.
As an Ambassador, Kevin will aim to raise awareness of The Passage’s work, challenge the stereotypes surrounding homelessness, and help educate the public about the complex issues that contribute to it. His support will also help The Passage achieve its fundraising goals, ensuring they can continue to provide life-changing service to those who need it most.
In taking up the ambassadorial role, Kevin's long-standing commitment to charitable work and giving back continues. Alongside his professional football career, he has supported community projects in Ghana and established his own foundation in Austria, dedicated to empowering young people and creating opportunities for those in need.
Mick Clarke, CEO of The Passage, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kevin as an ambassador. His energy, compassion, and commitment to social justice makes him a powerful advocate for our work. By amplifying the voices of people with lived experience and helping us break down barriers, Kevin will inspire others to engage with the realities of homelessness and support our mission to end it for good.”
Kevin said:“Visiting The Passage today has been a humbling and eye-opening experience. Meeting people with lived experience of homelessness and hearing their stories has shown me how important it is to challenge misconceptions and offer real support. I am proud to stand alongside The Passage as an ambassador and hope to use my voice to make a difference. Supporting causes like this is very important to me, and I see it as a continuation of my work in Ghana and through my foundation in Austria.”
