Triple injury blow

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Injuries have come back to haunt us on the eve of our biggest match of the season.

Darren Anderton, Stephen Carr and Chris Perry have been ruled out of Saturday's FA Cup fifth round tie against Stockport County. Anderton suffered an Achilles strain in Saturday's 1-0 win at Manchester City.

Boss George Graham said he hoped the England midfielder would be back in 'a couple of weeks'.

Perry was also injured at Maine Road where he sustained an open wound on his calf after a 50-50 challenge that went down to his muscle and required both internal and external stitches.

Carr, meanwhile, has suffered a breakdown in training this week after appearing as substitute for the final 30 minutes at City.

The injuries also put Carr and Anderton's international hopes on hold - Carr has already been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendly against Denmark on February 28 while Anderton was hoping for a place in Svan Goran Eriksson's first squad against Spain on the same date.

George would not say whether or not Les Ferdinand (hamstring) and Steffen Iversen (knee), who both came through 20-minute comebacks for the reserves in midweek, would figure in the starting line-up after three weeks and four months out respectively.

Chris Armstrong, Ben Thatcher and Mauricio Taricco (all groin) also remain out.
