Spurs Zone scores at Carnival

Thousands of revellers flocked to the Tottenham Carnival on Saturday.

Thousands of revellers flocked to the Tottenham Carnival on Saturday.

The Club was again delighted to be one of the main sponsors of the event and the Spurs Zone was one of many of the areas that attracted over 80,000 visitors to the Carnival's base in Bruce Castle Park.

People of all ages showed off their football skills in the Spurs Zone as well as trying their hand at boxing training with the aid of numerous coaches on site from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. They were also treated to the freestyle skills of Jeremy Lynch.

We were also involved in the Inclusion Zone where, working with Disability Joint Services and Vale School, we ran a number of exciting sports opportunities.

The Spurs Float included participants from a cross-section of our community projects from within the London Borough of Haringey that work in association with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. It was one of 25 floats in the Carnival parade that kicked-off at Eade Road and travelled up the High Street and into Bruce Castle Park via Bruce Grove.

Festivities in Bruce Castle Park included a funfair, dance and comedy, a Youth Zone, Latin American Zone, an Inclusion Zone for disabled people, an Over-60s Zone, a Business Zone, a picnic area and numerous stalls.

James Isaac, Disability Inclusion Manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: "It's so important for the local community to see the great work of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and it's great for us to be able to engage with the community on an occasion like the Tottenham Carnival. It was a fantastic day."

Look out for footage of the Carnival on Spurs TV Online later this week...
