Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

An FA tribunal has decided that we must pay Charlton Athletic £10,000 in compensation for 15-year-old midfielder Owen Price who joined our Academy this year.

Further payments up to a possible £445,000 will follow if the youngster progresses from schoolboy to become a Premiership regular.

Our Director of Football, David Pleat, was glad that the situation had been resolved.

He said: "We always accept with dignity the findings of any tribunal. We have to say that we are surprised in some ways that Millwall, the club that gave the boy two years training, have not benefited in any way but Charlton, who only put 12 months coaching into the boy, are going to receive money if he becomes a first team player.

"We find this rather odd because if he become a first team player it will be almost entirely due to the efforts of the Tottenham staff.

"However, we have been asked to pay £10,000 for his registration, which we will willingly do, plus other build-ups.

"He is another player who wanted to come to join our club. He was a free agent at the time but he had been de-registered at Charlton. There is no question of us poaching or taking him from Charlton. In fact several clubs wanted the boy but he chose Spurs.

"It is no means a certainty, but if he keeps his feet on the ground and his head straight, then he is in a group of quite good youngsters at that age level and we hope he does well and the money that will be paid subsequently will be well worth while."
