Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

RON HENRY (1954-1965)

One half of the full-back double act alongside Peter Baker widely acclaimed as the unsung heroes of the double-winners in 1961, Henry joined the professional staff at the Lane in 1954.

He was unable to break through during his early years but grabbed his chance when Mel Hopkins broke his nose playing for Wales in February 1958.

Henry went on to miss only one of the next 188 games during which he won the double in 1961, another FA Cup in 1962 and the European Cup Winners Cup in 1963.

Strong in the tackle and a great defender, Henry's ability to keep it simple when on the ball caught the eye.
His consistency at Spurs was rewarded by one England cap in 1963 - World Cup winner Ray Wilson had the shirt in that period - but cartilage trouble and the arrival of Cyril Knowles saw him move into coaching before concentrating on his business affairs.
Appearances/goals: 247/1 (Lg), 23 (FAC), 17 (Eur).
