Result: Celtic 2-0 Spurs

Rodrigo Defendi made his debut as two quickfire goals in the second half saw Celtic home in Glasgow on Tuesday night.

Brazilian centre-back Defendi came on for the returning Dean Richards in the second half and did little wrong in his 45-minute shift.

We certainly had our moments in an entertaining friendly - not least in an even first half - before two goals in the space of eight minutes from Craig Beattie and Henri Camara put the home side in the driving seat.

As well as Defendi's debut, the likes of Jamie O'Hara, Mark Hughes and in-particularly Kieran McKenna, another second half substitute, will all benefit from this experience against the Scottish champions.

Celtic keeper David Marshall was called into action twice in the first half - the first, a fine tip aside as Edson Silva met OJ Mabizela's cross - before Kasey Keller was forced to twice deny Camara, the second at full length to turn away a 30-yarder just before the break.

Defendi replaced Dean Richards at the interval but despite always looking dangerous going forward, Celtic couldn't break us down.

The breakthrough arrived on the hour and a moment of magic from Beattie. He received the ball some 30 yards from goal, twisted and turned through two or three challenges before slotting the ball past Keller.

Mark Yeates struck the woodwork soon after but Celtic's second goal was just around the corner. Goran Bunjevcevic tried to roll the ball back to Keller from the left touchline but left it short and the lively Camara nipped in to score off the post.

7mins: Loose ball in box, Balde low shot on turn from 15 yards well gathered by Keller to his left.

10mins: O'Hara rising volley after corner was cleared to 20 yards out.

15mins: McManus deep cross headed back across goal by Sylia.

16mins: O'Hara's ball into the box caused problems for Marshall but McManus onto loose ball before Brown and Yeates could pounce.

17mins: SAVE. Mabizela low cross in from right touchline met by Silva at near post, Marshall alive to it and pushed around post.

23mins: Persistence from Sylia and dangerous cross to near post headed away by Doherty.

28mins: CHANCE. Balde made hash of clearance from Yeates cross, ball fell to Ricketts, hit ball into ground somewhat from 12 yards and Marshall made comfortable save.

29mins: CHANCE. Decent Celtic move, ball played right to Sylia, picked out Corridon who scuffed volley wide from 10 yards.

32mins: Camara inches away from Wallace cross.

33mins: Richards' header back to Keller slightly short, Camara nipped in but Keller there to block, ball came out to Beattie who chipped onto roof of net.

44mins: SAVE. Camara picked up ball 35 yards out, travelled a couple of yards before unleashing drive that Keller did well to turn aside.

Half-time: Celtic 0, Spurs 0

Half-time: SUBS. Defendi and McKenna for Richards and Brown.

53mins: Hughes played one-two with Bunjevcevic, let fly from 30 yards, not too far wide.

57mins: Camara injected pace into move but hit weak shot at Keller.

60mins: GOAL. Thompson played ball into Beattie, 30 yards out, twisted and turned his way through the heart of the defence before slotting past Keller. 0-1.

65mins: Sweeping move as McKenna released Bunjevcevic down left, fine cross for Silva but Marshall out well to flick ball off his head.

67mins: WOODWORK. McKenna played Yeates into box, right-and side, 15-yard shot clattered near post.

68mins: GOAL. Bunjevcevic left back pass short, Camara nipped in to finish off post from eight yards. 0-2.

70mins: Yeates effort from 20 yards saved easily by Marshall.

73mins: Pearson hooked ball into box from byline, Corridon header onto roof of net.

74mins: SAVE/WOODWORK. Keller superb reactions to tip close-range Camara volley onto crossbar.

89mins: Yeates held off McGeady and fired just over from tight angle.
