My First Spurs Christmas - Georges-Kevin Nkoudou

Wed 21 December 2016, 13:02|Tottenham Hotspur

We caught up with this year’s new arrivals to find out about their plans for the festive period and how they’ve celebrated in the past. Today, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou…

GEORGES-KEVIN NKOUDOU

National team: France Under-21s.
Previous clubs: Nantes, Marseille.

What will you do on Christmas Day?
My mum is coming over from France a few days before and then over Christmas itself the rest of my family will come to London for a holiday so I will be able to spend time with them. This is a special time of year for my family and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. I am also looking forward to having fun with my wife and son – my son is crazy!

How does this differ from past Christmases for you?
This is the first year that I have football matches to prepare for because in France you have a holiday at this time of year. For me, I am really excited about this because I love football and I hope we will get some good results over Christmas.

What is traditional at Christmas in France?
It’s traditional to eat turkey and give presents to each other on December 25 – just like here in England.

What is your favourite festive meal?
In my house at Christmas my mum cooks African food for us. She makes some really nice meals – we have something called Aloco which is basically fried plantain, which you can eat with fish. We also have chicken – lots of different tastes and flavours!

What do you wish for at Christmas?
I want the team to win the games that we have and I want everything to be okay with my friends and family.

What was your most memorable gift as a child?
The first time I got a PlayStation was very special. The first game I had on it was Pro Evolution Soccer, which I played with my best friend Olfad.

Yesterday we heard from Victor Wanyama while tomorrow it’ll be Vincent Janssen in the hot seat…
