Yago Falque stole the show with two spectacular goals for Spanish side Rayo Vallecano on another busy weekend for our loanees.
The 24-year-old fired Rayo in front against Malaga in La Liga after collecting possession wide on the right and skipping around two players, before adding a sublime second as his side won 4-1 on Saturday.
Spurs colleague Alex Pritchard was also on target as his Swindon Town side overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit to beat Port Vale 3-2 in League One.
The comeback began when Alex crossed for Nile Ranger to head home, before our 20-year-old midfielder levelled the scores with a sublime free-kick. Former Spur Nathan Byrne completed the victory for the Robins soon afterwards.
In the Premier League, Lewis Holtby claimed an assist for Fulham’s opening goal in their 2-2 draw with Manchester United, while Jake Livermore played a part as Hull City broke the deadlock against Sunderland – Steve Bruce’s men going on to win 2-0.
In the Championship, Bongani Khumalo played 90 minutes for Doncaster Rovers in their 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion – Jon Obika coming on as a late substitute for the Seagulls – while Ryan Fredericks hit the bar in the second half as his Millwall side lost 3-1 at Burnley.
Elsewhere, Cristian Ceballos stepped off the bench to help FC Arouca claim a point in the Portuguese top flight, their match with Rio Ave ending 1-1 after the visitors notched a stoppage time leveller.
