Heurelho Gomes made an impressive debut as Hoffenheim returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga.

Gomes produced a number of fine saves as Hoffenheim beat Freiburg 2-1 at the Rhein-Nektar Arena on Saturday.

He was actually beaten inside five minutes, having initally kept out Max Kruse's shot, the forward followed up to make it 1-0 but Hoffenheim responded with two goals from Kevin Volland securing a first win of 2013.

There were three debuts in total for our players out on loan.

Andros Townsend also looked lively in QPR's 0-0 draw against Norwich and forced a spectacular late save from Mark Bunn at Loftus Road.

Alex Pritchard made his league debut as a substitute for Peterborough United in the Championship on Saturday and the tricky winger also impressed in a 35-minute stint as Posh came from behind to lead Burnley 2-1, only to concede late for the final 2-2 draw.

Danny Rose was back from injury for Sunderland and made his re-appearance as a second half substitute as the Black Cats lost 2-1 at Reading.

Adam Smith played 90 minutes as Millwall suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Hull City in the Championship.

Simon Dawkins was an unused substitute in Aston Villa's 3-3 draw at Everton while both Jordan Archer, for Wycombe at Gillingham in League Two and Yago Falque, for Almeria against Real Madrid Castilla in Spain's Segunda Division, are set for action on Monday night.
