Tottenham Hotspur Ladies hit the top of the FA Women's Premier League South for the first time after a impressive 5-2 win against Charlton on Sunday.
Deadly duo Bianca Baptiste and Wendy Martin led the way with two goals each with Avilla Bergin also on target as the team made it three wins in three in the league and two derby victories in four days after beating West Ham 2-1 on Thursday night.
Manager Karen Hills was delighted with the performance at Ware FC.
"The first 20 minutes was even but an injury to our former player Sam Pittuck unsettled Charlton and we got on top," reported Karen.
"The first goal came from a Charlton corner cleared by Wendy Martin to Bianca Baptiste, who outpaced the Charlton defenders from inside our half before hitting the top corner.
"We went two ahead when Wendy powered home a header from Jenna Schillaci's corner but Charlton pulled a goal back to make it 2-1.
"Avilla restored the two-goal lead from inisde the box and we looked dangerous on the break as Charlton tried to get back into the game.
"The fourth goal was a carbon copy of the second as Wendy rose well again to meet another great corner from Jenna for 4-1, although a mix-up soon let Charlton back in at 4-2.
"The game was finally put to bed with Bianca's second goal and our fifth.
"It was the perfect end to a big week and the players have been excellent.
"The work we've all put in over the last couple of years is starting to pay off as the team gelled superbly. We just hope we can continue to play like this for the rest of the season."
The ladies now step back into League Cup action and having toppled local side Enfield Town in the previous round, face Tranmere of Northern Division One at Ware FC on Sunday.
