JOHN CAMERON (1898-1907)

How many footballers can claim to have scored in an FA Cup Final while juggling the role of player-manager-secretary?

John Cameron did just that as Spurs won the cup as a non-league side for the first time back in 1901. An inside-forward, Cameron actually scored the equaliser in the replay against Sheffield United, paving the way for a 3-1 win.

An amateur at Everton after starting his career at Ayr Parkhouse and Queen's Park in Scotland, Cameron was signed as a professional in 1898 and top-scored in his first season.

He took his treble role following manager Frank Brettell's departure in 1899 and led us to the Southern League title in his first full season in charge. He stayed on as manager until resigning in March 1907.
Total appearances: Southern League 111/44; FAC 16/10.
