Glenn: Dean, Ledley for England
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle believes Dean Richards and Ledley King have the potential to break into the full England squad.
New recruit Dean, preparing for his debut against Manchester United on Saturday, has already underlined his ambition to become part of Sven Goran Eriksson's plans while Ledley, outstanding this season, has been widely tipped to make the step up from the Under-21s.
Quizzed on whether or not he believed Dean was England material, Glenn resonded: "Ironically I think I've two players here in Ledley King and Dean Richards, at different age groups, and I believe either of those players or both has a challenge to get themselves into that squad.
"It's not my decision, of course, but I've managed at that level and I believe these guys have the potential to attain that."
Dean's arrival was very much the talking point alongside Teddy Sheringham at Glenn's press conference on Thursday.
Glenn commented: "In Dean we've got a player who I believe is hitting his peak. He's still got a lot to aim for and learn and he'll improve. When we lost Sol we needed a Sol-ish type player.
"There are a lot similarities between him and Sol. If he achieves half of what Sol acheived for this club he'll be a major asset.
"Dean likes to attack the ball in the air, is a danger from set plays and, working with him for 15, 16 months, he's very good on the ball as well.
"He's a solid defender and his first thought is to defend the goal first. His presence is strong and it will get better with belief. I'm sure he's going to be a very good player for this club."
