Fulham U18s vs Spurs - Kieran's preview

Fri 31 October 2014, 15:01|Tottenham Hotspur

Kieran McKenna expects a difficult test for our Under-18s in Saturday’s trip to Fulham.

Both matches against the Cottagers in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League last season ended all square at 2-2, while the south west Londoners also knocked us out of the FA Youth Cup on their way to an eventual spot in the final.

Fast forward to the present day and, with two league wins in their last two matches under their belts, our youngsters head to Fulham’s Motspur Park training facility in confident mood – with Under-18s Coach Kieran predicting a tough game.

“Fulham certainly gave us two of our best games last season,” he said. “We had a 2-2 draw at home, which was an outstanding game of youth football, and we had a really good game against them in the FA Youth Cup as well so we’re looking forward to going over there this weekend.

“It will be a changed group again, as usual at this level. We’ve got six scholars who’ve travelled up to Liverpool for the Under-21s game on Friday night so it’s a great opportunity for those players.

“Of course, that opens the door for some other faces to come in and play for the Under-18s on Saturday and hopefully do themselves justice.”

Kick-off on Saturday is at 11am. We’ll have live updates on Twitter @SpursOfficial along with a full report here on tottenhamhotspur.com afterwards.
