Fans made me proud - Mauricio

Mauricio Pochettino could only speak of his pride after hearing his name ring out around the Lane at the end of our fine 2-0 victory against Chelsea.

It was a night that meant so much to Spurs fans - a fact Mauricio knew only too well - and Dele Alli’s double, both headers from Christian Eriksen’s crosses either side of half-time, secured a convincing win.

Our fans kept the noise volume turned up and a late rendition of ‘he’s magic, you know, Mauricio Pochettino…’ echoing around the stadium certainly struck a chord.

“Yes, that made me very happy, very proud and it’s great to be able to say ‘thank you’,” said Mauricio.

“We all deserve it - all the staff at the Club, all the people who work here and of course the players first, everyone deserves that warmth from the fans, and they were superb.

“I said to the media that it’s a big key for us how our fans help us, the atmosphere here and it was fantastic. I was very proud of the players and one more time to the fans, thanks. You were brilliant.”
