Famous Spurs

Mon 20 January 2003, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Where were Electric Six as the countdown to their new entry at number two in the charts was underway? At the Lane, of course!

Vocalist Dick Valentine met his Spurs hero Kasey Keller pitchside during one of the most important days in their musical history a fortnight ago.

The Detroit-based band's disco-rock crossover single 'Danger! High Voltage' was the highest new entry in the charts to cap a perfect day after our thrilling 4-3 victory over Everton.

"This has been fantastic," said Dick. "Kasey was a big reason for supporting Spurs but when I first came over here a couple of my mates steered me in this direction and one thing led to another.

"Also I can't stand Arsenal!

"When Kasey first came over here and played for Millwall I saw a documentary and thought it was phenomenal because football in America is a joke. They get no support. No-one cares.

"I would get up early to watch the national team's matches and people would say 'what match?'.

"It's sad really but it's great to come here and see the way it's meant to be played."

'Danger! High Voltage' is out now on XL Recordings.

Electric Six's album, 'Fire', will follow on May 19.
