Cup of cheer for Caulker
The League Cup will always have a place in Steven Caulker’s heart.
The young defender made his Spurs debut in the competition against Arsenal in September, 2010, a third round tie that the Gunners won in extra time.
“I remember being really nervous beforehand,” recalled Steven. “It was my first taste of the big atmosphere, a big game and it was a proud moment to get the shirt that day – hopefully the first of many.”
His next appearance may well be in our third round tie at Carlisle tonight – and it won’t be his first visit to Brunton Park, as he explained...
“We played there when I was on loan at Yeovil (March, 2010), I remember it was along old coach trip up from Yeovil!
“I think we ended up losing 1-0 and it’s a tough place to play.
“They are a good side and they’ve proved it this season. It was a good atmosphere when we played that day and I’m sure it will be the same with Spurs fans making the trip.
“They had good success against Ipswich in the last round and it will be tough for us.”
