Crouchy in the programme!

Peter Crouch has told our matchday programme how he sees a bright future at White Hart Lane.

Peter Crouch has told our official matchday programme how he sees a bright future at White Hart Lane.

Our summer signing from Portsmouth is the main interview in the 84-page programme for the mouth-watering opening fixture in the Barclays Premier League against Liverpool on Sunday.

The 28-year-old striker may only have been a Spurs player for a matter of weeks, but in that time he's had the chance to assess the club both on and off the pitch, and it's fair to say he likes what he sees as he prepares to meet his former club.

"I had a great time at Liverpool, we had some very successful seasons and I am glad to have been a part of it, but now I'm looking forward to being part of something special here at Spurs," said the England international. "I genuinely believe we have a good chance of doing great things in the next few years.

"I look at our squad that's been assembled here and there's no question we've got one that is capable of competing with all the top four sides and on our day we can beat any of them.

"Everyone knows about the size, the history and the tradition of Tottenham Hotspur, it's always been a fantastic club, but the quality here now on the pitch and the strength in depth throughout the squad is amazing.

"It's a case of proving that now, it's time to forget the talking and try to go out there and have a really good season."
