The Foundation currently works with the Premier League and Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) scheme to deliver a football-based youth mentoring programme and the Tournaleague has been a popular extension for participants.
Tournaleague involves the Foundation inviting representative sides from other London-based football clubs including West Ham, Crystal Palace and Arsenal to attend league-based tournaments every seven weeks. The latest round of action saw a talented Spurs side finish runners-up at Tottenham Sports Centre.
Grant Cornwell MBE, Chief Executive, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “We’ve supported hundreds of young people through MOPAC, enhancing their personal and career development whilst tackling youth crime. Tournaleague gives these children a chance to play organised football in a safe environment, whilst improving their teamwork and communication skills and it’s become a vital extension of the programme.”
