Injured towards the end of 2024/25, where his performances earned a hat-trick of Player of the Season awards, the all-action midfielder was back to feature in the UEFA Super Cup in August and then scored a memorable header in our 3-0 win at West Ham in September.
Lucas was part of the Sweden team that qualified for the World Cup with a dramatic play-off win against Poland in March, 2026, and then made history – when he stepped off the bench against Tunisia in the finals, he became the youngest Swedish player to appear in the World Cup. He featured as a substitute against Tunisia, Japan and the Netherlands before his first start, a 3-0 loss against France in the Round of 32.

Life before Spurs
Lucas was only 16 when he first played for IF Brommapojkarna (BP) in the Superettan, the second tier of Swedish football, and featured 11 times as BP gained promotion to the Allsvenskan in 2022. His performances caught the eye of clubs across Europe and Lucas opted to stay in Stockholm and join his brother, Theo, at Djurgarden. Lucas progressed again during the 2023 season, making 25 appearances (out of 30) as his side finished fourth in the Allsvenskan.
Sweden
Having represented Sweden at Under-17, 19 and 21 levels, Lucas made his senior debut against Estonia in January, 2024. He became the youngest Swedish player to feature at the World Cup when he came off the bench against Tunisia aged 20 years and 132 days in June, 2026. At the end of 2025/26, Lucas had 14 caps to his name.
