Hampered by injury again in 2025/26, where he was restricted to 28 appearances out of a possible 52, Destiny played his part as we secured Premier League status – he started six of Roberto De Zerbi’s seven matches in charge.
Destiny made quite an impact in his first season, 2023/24, were his performances earned a first cap for Italy and he was shortlisted for the Premier League's Young Player of the Season award. In 2024/25, he recovered from injury to start both legs of our UEL quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt, semi-final against Bodo/Glimt - he was outstanding in the second leg in Norway - and ran himself into the ground for 90 minutes after starting the final against Manchester United - a key part of a defensive unit that kept clean sheets in the away legs of the quarter and semi-final, and the final as we triumphed in Bilbao.

Life before Spurs
Having progressed through the ranks at Hellas Verona, Destiny made his professional debut in November, 2020. The following year, he joined Udinese on loan - a deal which turned permanent in July, 2022 - and in his debut season with the Italian side he made 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals. He joined us at the end of that season, loaned back to Udinese for 2022/23, where he made another 33 appearances in Serie A.

Representing Italy from Under-16 to Under-21 level, Destiny earned his first senior cap for the Azzurri against Malta in October, 2023. A few days later, he was up against England in a Euro 2024 qualifier at Wembley. At the end of 2025/26, Destiny had 12 caps to his name.
