A player that typified many of the cliches thrown at number nines, Jermain was a fox in the box, a poacher, a player that played off the shoulder with a burst of pace to leave defenders in his wake.

Add to that his incredible sense for where the goal was at all times, the forward needed very little opportunity to the find the back of the net. If you gave him the ball in a dangerous area, you were likely made to pay.
