That came at Villa Park on 3 May, 2026. Needing points as we fought for our Premier League status, Conor rifled home an early goal against Villa to set us on the path to arguably our best performance and biggest win of the season. An all-action central midfielder, Conor flourished after Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival in April and started our final seven games as we picked up 11 points out of a possible 21 to finish 17th.

Life before Spurs
Progressing through Chelsea’s academy, Conor was on the bench for the 2019 UEL final win against Arsenal before loans at Charlton (26 appearances, 6 goals) and Swansea City (21 appearances) in 2019/20 and West Brom in the Premier League in 2020/21 (32/2). His breakthrough followed at Palace in the PL in 2021/22 (39/8). Back at Chelsea, he made his debut in August, 2022 and was soon a key member of the side, racking up 95 appearances and10 goals in 2022/23 and 2023/24, regularly named captain in 2023/24. Conor headed to Spain to join Atletico Madrid in August, 2024, and played 77 times in all competitions for the La Liga side, scoring seven times. He made history with Atleti as well – his goal after 27 seconds against Real Madrid was the fastest by an Englishman in the Champions League – becoming the first Englishman to score in the Madrid derby.

Conor was part of the Young Lions side which lifted the Under-17 World Cup in 2017. He earned his first senior cap against San Marino in November, 2021 and was part of the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024 squads. At the end of 2025/26, he had 22 caps to his name.
