Having impressed in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, Lize Kop was an ever-present in our starting XI in all competitions throughout 2025/26 as she went on to register 10 clean sheets, six of those in the Women’s Super League.
Becoming our number one following her move from Leicester City in January, 2025, the Netherlands international started in all our WSL fixtures for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign, 12 in total, becoming a fan favourite with a number of impressive shot stopping displays in a difficult last few months of the season.
A consistent performer in between the sticks last term, Lize took her tally to 41 appearances in a Spurs shirt and was at the heart of some memorable monents in the campaign, notably her penalty shootout heroics against London City Lionesses in the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup.

Life before Spurs
Born and raised in Wormer, Netherlands, Lize progressed through the academy set-up at Ajax before making her senior debut for the Dutch side in September, 2017, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Achilles ’29. She made a further 12 appearances in that term, helping Ajax to clinch the Eredivisie title in 2017/18 in her breakthrough campaign.
Across her six seasons with de Godendochters, she made over 100 appearances, winning the league title twice (2017/18 and 2022/23) and Dutch Cup in 2021, before securing a move to Leicester City.
Joining the Foxes ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, the experienced shot-stopper featured in eight games in her first season in the WSL – 13 in all competitions - to help them secure survival in England’s top flight.
International
Featuring for the Netherlands’ youth sides from Under-16 to Under-23 level, Lize made her senior debut in April, 2019, against Poland in the Algarve Cup before being named in the squad for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where her nation finished as runners-up. She was also part of the Netherlands squad that reached the quarter-finals at the 2023 tournament and most recently at the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euros.
