A commanding centre-back, Kevin Danso won fans’ hearts with his heart on sleeve performances as we fought our way out of trouble in the Premier League at the end of 2025/26. Indeed, Kevin started six of Roberto De Zerbi’s seven matches in charge as we won three and drew two in the crucial run-in.

Kevin made 36 appearances in 2025/26, taking him past the half-century mark for the club – he’s now up to 51 in all competitions since joining us from Ligue 1 side RC Lens, initially on loan in February, 2025, a deal made permanent ahead of 2025/26. He played an important role in the second half of the 2024/25 season as we achieved our goal of winning the UEFA Europa League - he featured in the Round of 16, quarter-final and then came on for the final 12 minutes of the final in Bilbao, typically throwing himself in the way of everything as we saw it out against Manchester United.

Life before Spurs

Born in Voitsberg, Austria, Kevin moved to England at the age of six and began his career with Reading and MK Dons before heading to Germany to join FC Augsburg in January, 2014. He made debut in March, 2017, becoming the youngest ever player to feature for the club in a league fixture, on his way to 44 appearances (3 goals). The Premier League was next via a loan at Southampton in 2019/20 (10 appearances) and then another loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf in 2020/21 (33 appearances, 2 goals). He joined RC Lens in August, 2021 and was named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year after a second-placed finish. He made 128 appearances for the French side before joining Spurs.

Austria

Having featured for Austria across numerous age categories, Kevin earned his senior debut in September, 2017. He was part of Austria’s Euro 2024 squad and most recently featured four times at the 2026 World Cup. At the end of the tournament, he was up to 36 caps.
