Vastly experienced Scotland captain Andy Robertson joined us in the summer of 2026 following a remarkable nine years at Liverpool.
Having made his first steps in senior football in 2012 with then amateur Glasgow side Queen’s Park, he has enjoyed an incredible rise to the top of English, European and international football in the years that have followed.
Indeed, before joining us, another milestone – Andy captained Scotland to the World Cup in 2026 – Scotland’s first appearance at the tournament this century.
Life before Spurs
Born in Glasgow, Andy’s performances for Queen’s Park in 2012/13 earned a move to Dundee United in the SPL. Managed by Celtic great Jackie McNamara, Andy made 44 appearances and was named PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year in his first professional campaign as The Tangerines reached the Scottish Cup Final. England was next and a move to Hull City in 2014, racking up 115 appearances and helping Tigers back to the Premier League in 2015/16 before his big switch to Liverpool in 2017. Robbo won the lot in nine years at Anfield - Premier League (2019/20, 2024/25), FA Cup (2022), League Cup (2022, 2024), UEFA Champions League (2019), UEFA Super Cup (2019) and FIFA Club World Cup (2019). Vice-captain in what turned out to be his last season on Merseyside, 2025/26, Andy racked up 378 appearances for the Reds.
Scotland
First capped in March, 2014, Andy has been a mainstay for Scotland ever since, taking up the captaincy in September, 2014. He’s helped reward the Tartan Army for their loyalty - he led Scotland to the 2020 and 2024 UEFA European Championships before captaining them to the World Cup in 2026 – Scotland’s first appearance at the tournament this century. At the end of the World Cup, Andy had 97 caps to his name.
