Women hit seven without reply... again!

It was seven-up for Spurs Women for the second week in a row as our preparations for the start of the Barclays FA Women's Super League season continued with a comprehensive 7-0 victory at Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Having beaten Southampton Women's FC by the same scoreline in our first pre-season friendly last week, we produced another excellent performance to see off FA Women's Championship side Palace at Bromley's Hayes Lane, Rianna Dean's first-half brace being added to after the break by Lucy Quinn, Ashleigh Neville, Coral-Jade Haines, Sophie Mclean and Siri Worm.

Karen Hills and Juan Amoros set up with a three-at-the-back system and within two minutes we were ahead as Dean slotted home from the centre of the box.

Former Spur Bianca Baptiste, who left the Club this summer, went close when her cross-shot zipped inches past the post but, amid a spell of Palace pressure, Dean doubled her tally on 18 minutes, her volley from six yards out taking a deflection on its way into the net.

With new signing Hannah Godfrey on at the break for her debut, we made a quick start to the second half as Quinn made it 3-0 with a spectacular 30-yard lob and then hit the post, before Neville got in on the act 10 minutes later, flicking home a low cross.

Palace had been having chances of their own but after Haines forced a back-pedalling save from home goalkeeper Lucy Gillett with another attempt from range, she made it 5-0 in the 74th minute before Mclean burst into the area and slammed home number six just three minutes later.

Four minutes from time, summer signing Worm opened her goalscoring account for the Club by planting in a free-kick to complete another impressive team display.
