Ange Postecoglou has confirmed Heung-Min Son will not feature in Thursday night's Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Ange revealed that the skipper had been left 'a bit sore' after Saturday's 4-1 win over West Ham United, having just returned from injury. Sonny missed three matches with a hamstring issue, but returned in style, capping his display with a superb strike for our fourth goal.
However, our Head Coach also confirmed that it was planned for the forward to miss the clash with the Dutch side.
Ange said: "Sonny was a bit sore after the weekend, but he was never going to be involved anyway. We'll leave him out and we'll see how he is from there."
