Academy update - Simon Davies

We are delighted to announce that Simon Davies has been appointed as Academy Director.

Davies, who was captain of the famous 1992 Youth Team at Manchester United, has vast experience of the Academy system having begun his coaching career as a Youth Coach at Chester City before joining Manchester City’s Academy in 2010. Simon worked across different levels of the Academy during an eight-year period in Manchester, including the Under-23s where he worked alongside Patrick Vieira before taking over the position as Lead Coach himself, and subsequently Head of Coaching for the Academy.

Simon left City in the summer of 2019 to join Belgian side RSC Anderlecht where he held the position as Assistant Coach to Vincent Kompany, before joining us as Head of Methodology for the Academy in July 2022.
