Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that the 11 players who started in Sunday’s memorable win against Manchester City have not travelled out to Portugal for our UEFA Europa Conference League play-off, first leg against Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday (7.30pm).

Speaking ahead of training at Pacos de Ferreira’s Estadio Capital do Movel this evening, approximately 30 minutes from Porto, where he both played and managed, Nuno said: “It's a decision that we've made. I think it's important that our players, all of them, have real competition, so for tomorrow the decision is the players who started on Sunday are not going to be involved.”

Earlier, he told Spurs TV: “It’s a good chance for us as a squad to have a real game situation. If you ask a player if he prefers to train or play, he prefers to play, so let’s play our players tomorrow.

"Of course, it’s going to be a different team, but it’s a good chance for us to consolidate ideas and to have real competition for our players."

Good news sees Ryan Sessegnon back in the squad having returned from a hamstring injury with a 45-minute stint in our Premier League 2 match against Chelsea on Monday evening.
