Nuno previews City: “One thing is clear, we are ready”

Nuno Espirito Santo has no qualms about the quality of Manchester City ahead of our big kick-off in the Premier League this weekend - but he says sole focus is on what we do.
Excitement is growing as Nuno’s new era begins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (4.30pm) in front of a full house for the first time since March, 2020.
City ran away with the title again last term, beat us in the final of the League Cup and lost out in the final of the Champions League. Having toppled them in November - making it three out of three at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Pep Guardiola’s men responded with a record 21 straight wins in all competitions.
How did Nuno see City? “Tough, quality, a fantastic squad, good manager, champions of the Premier League,” he responded. “But we have to face all our opponents two times, not only at the beginning of the season, but during the season as well.
“We are focused on ourselves, trying to consolidate what we want, trying to create our idea in terms of performance and how we want to do things. It's about us, the things we want to do in the game, the way we want to compete. We are focussed on ourselves and trying to be a good team.
“One thing is clear, we are ready. It’s about that, being ready.”
Nuno spoke in his press conference about players ‘going beyond their limits’, and later told us: “This is what I see, this is what I feel and this is what really moves me on, because I truly believe there is much more that each one of us can give.”
